8 young, promising bands are in the run for the title Young Jazz Musicians of the Year. During Moldejazz in July, one of the bands will be crowned the winner and win both the title and a launch package from the Norwegian Jazz Forum and the Gramo grant of NOK 150,000.

It's without a doubt one of Norway's most noteworthy concerts of the year. Superstar John Legend returns to Moldejazz, 7 years after his last visit.

One of the greatest legends in the world of jazz, Herbie Hancock, is confirmed for this summer's anniversary edition of Moldejazz.

This year's Artist In Residence, John Zorn, isn't only a unique and eclectic musician. He's also an avid listener with a wide range of interests and a well-developed curiosity. We challenged him to curate a concert series during this year's festival.

Sometimes more than others, a concert at Moldejazz can point back to a memorable moment in our festival's history. In the anniversary year, we're paying these concerts a little extra attention and have labelled them «Legacy Concerts».

Charles Lloyd is making his return after 54 years, four more concerts with our Artist in Residence, John Zorn, and for all who share our fondness for musical monologues, there'll be another chance to catch the critically acclaimed performance of Driving Miles.

A true musical feast of our time. An organ trio, string ensembles, guitar heroes, Norwegian contributions, church organs, jazz pianists and much more are ingredients in our Artist In Residence, John Zorn's adventurous and thrilling week in Molde.

The Accessibility mark is a certification for cultural organisers who have good accessibility for people with disabilities at their events. Moldejazz has a good tradition of catering to those with special needs, and we're very pleased with receiving the Accessibility mark.

On Friday 17 July, Astrid S, Emilie Nicolas and Bendik will be playing at our picturesque outdoor venue, Romsdalsmuseet! Today we're also releasing 3-day passes to the museum, as well as 2 dedicated passes to John Zorn's concerts as Artist in Residence.

John McLaughlin & the 4th Dimension, John Zorns Bagatelles Marathon part I and II, Out of Land, Cécilie McLorin Salvant, Ola Kvernberg – Steamdome vol 2, Ellen Andrea Wang - Closeness ft. Arve Henriksen, New Masada Quartet, Masada String Trio, Joel Ross, TORA and Gov’t Mule are ready for Moldejazz 2020.

For 40 years John Zorn has been among the most creative and influential musicians in jazz. The famous sax player and composer has directed, influenced and organized a series of remarkable ensembles with some of the most original musicians in the genre. Now he is our next Artist in Residence at Moldejazz 2020, the year which also marks the festival’s 60th jubilee of continuous operation.

As before, FRAM will have an extended public transport service under Moldejazz. There will be extra departures both day, evening and night.
